My mother was the first person in our neighborhood for a microwave oven, actually a Amana Radar. We have all kinds of commentaries on life as the Jetsons. The mothers of all the neighbors had come for a glass of water, a good (error heat) cup instant Sanka. She paid about $ 800.00 for them. In fact, almost 20 years before being out to pasture. Not sure but I think it was in the 1970s.

all but the fridge ... My mother contracted polio and died the same year, the vaccine against polio was published ... I assumed that adults were more and more with the children and do not even consider themselves affected ... She was 28 ...

I'm 39 and I remember when I was a microwave first 10 years. All the other things that were before me, I think.
